Happy Valentine’s Day! If you are still looking for that perfect accessory today or any day during winter, there is still time to make these fingerless gloves in under 1 hour. They are so cute with the red heart detail!
Surprisingly, the heart was made with a granny square! But the chenille yarn makes everything just fluffy so you no longer see the construction but only the bright red heart!

Gauge
No gauge needed. Adjust number of rows along the inside of the gloves based on your hand measurement.

Step 1: Heart Granny Square Crochet Pattern
**Ch 2 at the beginning of each round counts as first DC.
Round 1: Magic ring. Ch2, DC2, Ch1. (DC3, Ch.1) 3 times. Join to first DC. (This will give you four groups of 3 DCs with a chain to separate each)
Round 2: Ch2. DC2 in previous chain space, (DC3,Ch1. DC3 in next chain space) 3 times. DC3, Ch1 in first chain space. Join to first DC.
Round 3: Ch2, DC2 in previous chain space ::change to white:: DC3 in next space between DC3’s from previous round ::change to red:: (DC3, CH1, DC3) in next chain space. DC3 in next space ::change to white:: DC3, CH1, DC3 in next chain space. ::change to red:: DC3 in next space ::change to white:: DC3, CH1, DC3 in next chain space. ::change to red:: DC3 in space. DC3 in first chain space, CH1 Join to first DC.
Round 4: with white:: Ch2, DC2 in previous chain space, *DC3 in next spaces between DC3’s from previous round, (DC3,CH1. DC3) in next chain space (corner), rep from * around, DC3 in first chain space, CH1. Join to first DC.

Step 2: Adding thumbhole & back part of gloves
Now that the granny square is complete, turn it on its side and crochet along the edge 13SC evenly. Keep adding as many rows as you need to wrap your hand in. For me, that was 12 rows of SC.
Add a hole for the thumb: 5SC, 5CH (sk 5sts) 3SC, The thumbhole is closest to the bottom of the heart. Since you are creating 2 gloves that are mirror images, one of the gloves need the thumbhole before the row of single crochets and one right after the rows of single crochets. Slip stitch the 2 long ends of each glove together.

Step 3: Adding top edging
To finish of the top edge of the gloves, attach the white yarn in one side: CH1, *HDC,DC,HDC) in next stitch, slst, rep from * around, slst to start, fasten off
Step 4: Adding ribbing
Round 1: Start with white on the bottom edge on the side, CH2, DC,*DC2TOG, DC, DC, rep from * around, slst to start
Round 2-5: CH2, FPDC, BPDC, rep from * around, slst to start, fasten off on last round
Step 5: Adding thumbhole edging
Round 1: Start with white on the edge of the thumbhole, CH1, SC around, slst to start
Round 2: CH1, SC around, slst to start, fasten off and weave in all ends

You can get creative and make several different versions of these crochet gloves by using different shades of pink and white or make them in a solid color without the heart design.
