Who would have thought you can make your own velvet scrunchies!
You know how much I love velvet and I have been obsessed with velvet yarn. I made this Velvet Crochet Sweater and had some leftover yarn.
Me and my girls wear scrunchies for their hair all the time so it just came natural to see how to make scrunchies out of velvet yarn.
It created a really easy scrunchies crochet pattern that gives these scrunchies a nice ruffled edge and feels even softer that store bought scrunchies.
And they go perfectly with my VSCO Girl Shell Necklace! So make your scrunchies DIY along with your shell necklace and you are ready to go!
Or make tulle scrunchies instead with my easy tulle and faux fur crochet pattern.

Explanation:
These velvet crochet scrunchies are really quick to make. So you can make a few for your friends as well!
If you find a self striping velvet yarn, you can even make a few different colored scrunchies out of a single velvet yarn ball.
Use a smaller hook so your stitches are tight to make it feel more like fabric.
Also, try to get as many Tr on the elastic tie as you can so that the velvet really ruffles up nicely.
Follow along with this video on how to make a scrunchie
